MythMaker Creations is a company that offers services to self-published authors that elevate their books to the elite status of traditionally published novels. Therefore, it was important to create a logo that could work for a traditional publisher but also have a modern aesthetic so that it could stand out in 2024.
To achieve this balance, I focused mainly on the emblem and typography as a shape. This creates a more timeless symbol that can be easily updated, with a gradient colour scheme in this case, to reinvent the brand for tastes as they change over time.
This symbol and logo will be adaptable to new design trends and can be updated when needed in the future.
With the logo created, it was time to carry that new branding into the website.
With a focus on the design services offered to self-published authors, the MythMaker Creations website needed to make the content shine at any screen size. Therefore, it needed a design that would fit with the branding but leave a lot of space for the content to stand out more than the website’s structure.
Therefore, other than matching the colour scheme to the branding, the web design is very straightforward. It has just one subtle element that makes it stand out on its own regardless of the content; the introduction of angled sections.
All of this website’s building blocks have been created with a slightly skewed angle that creates a subtle but striking effect, especially when scrolling or viewing tiled items. This creates a distinctive separation between sections of the website and also makes for some equally distinctive containers for the content without ever getting in the way of that content.
Alongside creating a range of promotional material for social media, MythMaker Creations also needed assets for a YouTube channel. This included not just channel graphics but also an animated mascot to narrate the videos.
I created this mascot and rigged him up with Adobe Character Animator so that all future videos can automatically generate a new custom animation at the same time as the voiceover is being created. You can actually see more information about how this character was created in the video below.
This video also contains multiple custom 3D animations created in Blender. Any examples of MythMaker Creations work in 3D format are custom-created for this video.
